Decent Music PR puts the spotlight on HOLYMAMI asking her five key questions. . .

Welcome to the Decent Music PR blog. Please introduce yourself. And how would you describe your music?

Hii Decent, my artist name is HOLYMAMI and I would describe my music as high octane, punky and a lil aggressive.

Who are your biggest influences?

My biggest musical influences are definitely Betty Davis, System of a Down, Rage Against the Machine, Skin Skunk Anansie, X Ray Spex and PJ Harvey. There's much more but I would say these are the people that made me go "huh so you can sound like however you want to and people that need to find you will find you." I also just enjoy people who scream in a melodic way.

Who do you create music for, and what messages do you want people to get from your music?

I create music for people who want to hear something intense yet uplifting I feel like sometimes you can either get either or. I also make music for myself just cause it’s super fun. my number one feeling I hope people take away is a sense of pride and power and resistance to whatever the status quo is.

If you could imagine the best moment for a first-time listener to listen to your music, what would it be? What is one song that you wish you wrote yourself, and why?

The best moment for a first-time listener to listen to my music would probably be while they're getting ready for a fun night out or just feeling confident.

What have you learned from your artistry through the years?

My artistry has taught me patience above all else. Some things are truly out of your control. What you can do is show up 100% as your best as much as you can.
